Features:
Pulp Fill Kit - Endodontic Cement
Code: 7136
PULP FILL is an endodontic cement, used as an intracanal filling material.
The powder and liquid form a viscous mixture, which is used with gutta-percha cones.
This cement sets through a reaction between zinc oxide and eugenol, which, in the presence of water, form zinc eugenolate. The resin improves mixing characteristics and slows setting time. Radiopacity is optimized by bismuth and barium salts.
The formulation of PULP FILL is similar to that developed by GROSSMAN. This cement was developed to meet the requirements established by GROSSMAN for a perfect endodontic filling cement, which are: (1) adhesiveness - it must be sticky when mixed to provide good adhesion between the cone and the canal; (2) perfect closure - it must provide an airtight seal; (3) radiopaque - it must be radiopaque enough to be visualized radiographically; (4) small particles - the powder particles must be very small so they can mix easily with the liquid; (5) non-shrinkage - it must not shrink after placement; (6) it must not stain tooth structure; (7) antibacterial action - it must be bacteriostatic or, at least, unsuitable for bacterial growth; (8) it must harden slowly; (9) insoluble - it must be insoluble in tissue fluids; (10) biocompatible - must be tolerated by the tissues, i.e., not irritating to the periapical tissues and (11) removable - must be soluble in common solvent, if it is necessary to remove the canal filling.
Advantages:
-Bacterial action;
-Excellent marginal sealing;
-Easy handling;
-Easy drainage;
-More homogeneous mixture, free of lumps;
-Radiopaque.
Instructions for use:
1. Select the gutta-percha cone;
2. Place a maximum of 2 to 3 drops of PULP FILL Liquid on a smooth glass plate and gradually add and stir the PULP FILL Powder for 3 minutes until a thick consistency is obtained;
The ideal point is when a thread forms, approximately 2.5 cm long, before breaking, moving the spatula away from the dough.
3. After the gutta-percha cone is completely covered by cement, proceed to obturate the canal, according to the indicated endodontic technique.
SPECIAL CARE:
- Excessive extravasation of PULP FILL into periapical tissues should be avoided, despite it being a well-tolerated product when extravasated.
