The Weingart Universal Orthodontic Pliers manufactured by Orthometric are part of the family of adaptation pliers. They feature long, thin tips with a serrated interior for greater archwire grip. They are recommended for inserting the clasp of a transpalatal bar into the lingual tube and for performing distal bending at the end of an archwire.
Its shape allows for greater grasp of an arch of up to 0.021”X 0.025” (0.55x0.64mm), for insertion and removal from inside the molar tube.
