Riva Luting is a conventional, self-polymerizing glass ionomer cement for the final cementation of metal restorations. It chemically adheres to metallic substrates and the tooth.

Owner of ionglass technology

• Riva Luting uses a technology created by SDI called ionglass, which increases the strength of the material developed by our glass specialists. ionglass is a reactive, radiopaque glass with high ion release, used throughout SDI's line of dental cements. Riva Luting has a high fluoride release that aids in the remineralization of the dental structure.
  
• High fluoride release
  
• The high fluoride release of Riva Luting benefits the tooth. Fluoride plays a very important role in caries prevention. This also includes the formation of fluorapatite, which is more resistant to acid than hydroxyapatite. Fluorapatite is very important for tooth remineralization.
  
• Low solubility
  
• Riva Luting has low solubility in the oral environment. This makes it resistant to disintegration and wear caused by static aqueous effects, such as in an extreme oral environment.
  
• Antimicrobial effect
  
• Compared to other materials such as fluoride-releasing resin cement, Riva Luting has been shown to have an antimicrobial effect against cariogenic bacteria, Streptococcus sobrinus and Lactobacilli (2).
