Eucalyptol is a colorless or light yellow oleaginous liquid with a characteristic camphor aroma and a pungent, refreshing camphor flavor. Completely insoluble in water, readily soluble in 70% ethanol. Miscible with absolute alcohol and fatty oils.
Eucalyptol, essential oil from eucalyptus, is used to dissolve gutta-percha, being non-irritating and presenting antibacterial activity.
