Steel Matrix Band
A steel matrix band is a dental material used to fill spaces between teeth during dental restoration procedures. It is made of a malleable stainless steel alloy and is available in different widths and thicknesses. The steel matrix band is used to help the dentist create a precise shape for the restoration and to protect adjacent teeth from damage caused by the restorative material.
The steel matrix band is inserted into the gap between the teeth using a matrix ring. The matrix ring is then secured in place with a clamp. The steel matrix band is then filled with the restorative material. After the restorative material has cured, the steel matrix band is removed.
