✔ High Speed Handpiece
The high-speed handpiece is the fastest rotating piece, reaching 400,000 revolutions per minute. It is used for enamel cutting, hard caries removal, and cavity preparation. In other words: anything that requires power and speed. Therefore, it is always used with a water spray to avoid generating heat and damaging the tooth.
 ✔ Contra-Angle Handpiece
The low-speed handpiece rotates much slower and is used for finishing and polishing. It is perfect for shaping, removing excesses, or working with materials that require more control. The contra-angle should be used when precision is needed, such as for polishing a resin or for prophylaxis. One detail is that the cooling tube of this contra-angle is fully welded, a careful detail that makes all the difference in precision, durability, and hygiene.
