In Ozoncare Ozonated Olive Oil, the active ingredients resulting from the ozonation process are hydroperoxides and other lipid peroxidation products, which have non-specific germicidal properties and act satisfactorily on wound healing and tissue regeneration processes.
One of the main and most well-known mechanisms of action of ozone is related to its highly oxidative activity, being a potentially biocidal agent, acting against fungi, bacteria, and viruses. The higher the peroxide index, the lower the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC). For antimicrobial activity, the Peroxide Index should be around 600 meq/kg.
Clinical studies have also demonstrated its potential effect in various situations, such as: difficulty in healing, mycoses, ulcers, osteomyelitis, anorrectal surgery post-operative care, herpes, etc. This is due to the slow and gradual release of oxygen.
